i'm still me.
Sunday, September 14, 2003

well, hey! i came out of the f4/meteor garden nation unscathed ;-) i'm still my weird, silly, dark self and congratulate me cuz i hae never been the least bit influenced by those three crazy f4 fanatics! lolz. although it's kinda annoying that they had to talk about f4 like, every 5 minutes! so most times i really just talk to mr. oscar fish (yes, from ochelle's aquarium!) who was hostile at first, but eentually i was able to win him over and soon we're "playing" already. lolz.

gawd, we just stayed at home, looked through f4 magazines, watche f4 videos, meteor garden reruns at ch 2 and cinema 1 - f4 f4 f4! they didn't watch the concert cuz they can't afford the ten thousand fie hundred ticket! actually, i ore of observed, watched, listened to them as they gushed about the taiwanese dudes. it's kind of fan watching crazy f4 fans you know - it's like watching a really bad moie, it's so bad it's entertaining! hehe. when we're just on the way to iya's house, i suggested that we take a walk around the neighborhood during the afternoon, cuz the weather's great, perfect for walking. but i guess after stuffing ourseles with chicken adobo, and steamed tilapia and choco banana crepe and them talking nonstop about f4, we all just kinda forgot about it.

actually i think i am the only one interested in walking. the gals despite haing the need for some seriosu exercise, opted to stay home and stuff themselves with more food while geting all f4. my, i'm making it sound like they're such fanatics, but they really are.

imagine, all four of us were siting in the living room, and the three of them (iya, jallee, annette) were glued to the meteor garden replay on tv, and then they'd still talk about f4 and mg during breaks! while i sat there, loking really odd as i read the paper or stared at the fishes in the aquarium.

then uhm, ochelle (yes, "the" crush) came out of his room and instead of the usual hi or hello, he just looked at me, and i found it weird. it looked like he wanted to say something. later on i found out from his sister that with my new haircut (fringed, just past the shoulders, with bangs) i kind of look like some girl in the meteor graden show who ochelle has a crush on. yay! hehe.

so there. i had fun! f4 gushing notwithstanding, any chance away from dorm and school is a treat. and i'm with a company i enjoy. yes, despite them being f4 freaks. uhm, and yeah, i got to see ochelle. he's sucha cutie. we never got to talk though, cuz if i so much as attempt to start a conversation with the guy i'm sure to get some weird looks from the gals. he'd listen to our conversations though, and he still laughs at my sarcastic remarks about the taiwanese dudes. fair enough. =)

POP! puff? pop!
Friday, September 12, 2003

just before i run off to face a gruelling weekend (meet with friends tomorrow, clean dorm room, bar ops this sunday), i just have to share the following:

- andy roddick is sooo HOT! lucky mandy!
-before it becomes so pop, i love michelle branch's "breathe" and hilary duff's "so yesterday". and yes, i'm serious. man, really!
- i wanna watch mandy moore's movie "how to deal" next week when it comes out.
- i just bought a really cute orange baby tee, it's got blue trainers with real shoelace as a design... it's soo cute! i also bought matching blue butterfly earrings.

i wonder what phase i'm going through right now? ;p

weekend, schmeekend
Friday, September 12, 2003

my friend karyn and i are hanging out at this new burger joint in our area, waiting for our order. she was talking about how she doesn't feel too well, and i said i've been feeling sick too since last week. that i have been losing appetite, feeling faint most times, would always feel like throwing up and getting bruises in my arms and back.

and we noticed one of those women manning the counter staring at us, apparently she have been listening, and she had this weird look on her face. karyn and i looked at each other and were like "she's probly thinking we might be pregnant!" we laughed. what could have happened, some sort of immaculate conception? lolz.

on the contrary, we're both having our period, which by the way, is my most hated part of the month. anything that makes me feel dirty all the time, makes me want to throw up, or faint, is definitely something i'm not very excited about. urngh.

hm, tomorrow, i'll be spending the day with college friends - iya, annete and jallee. we'll meet at mcdonald's quezon avenue at 8:30, then proceeed to iya's house so they can catch the meteor garden replay. urngh. man, surely i won't be able to endure like an hour watching that show so i'm bringing books to read, or maybe i'll chat with the fishes in ochelle's aquarium.

right. what an exciting weekend. whoo pee! hee, sarcastic. but up until yesterday i was actually excited about this meeting. and then i remembered i'll be hanging out with MG fans. sheesh, i gotta brace myself. i sure hope we won't talk about MG? man, i hope.

my inner child
Friday, September 12, 2003

My inner child is ten years old today

My inner child is ten years old!

The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether
I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost
in a good book, or giggling with my best
friend, I live in a world apart, one full of
adventure and wonder and other stuff adults
don't understand.

How Old is Your Inner Child?

my name is.... (fridayfive)
Friday, September 12, 2003

1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed? yep, it is the smae as the one in my birth cerificate

2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be? i'm okay with my surname/s, but if i could chnage my name i'd pick Franceska Lucia or Natalia Fiona =)

3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?) My hippie dad was the one responsible for my weird name. It's of Russian/Spanish origin and he said he picked the name because it sounds cool ;p (i'm thinking he actually just forgot why he gave me my name, he's old.)

4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why? i don't like the name christine/kristine or jennifer because they're too common. i like the names samantha, chantal, ashley, natalie, nadine, and any name which means "little girl" like menina, nina, famke or fille. for boys, i like joshua, ethan, daniel and brandon.

5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com accurate? How or how isn't it? here, i checked:

Your name gives you a clever, quick, analytical mind, but you suffer with a great deal of self-consciousness, lack of confidence, and much aloneness because of misunderstandings. Your idealistic and sensitive nature gives you a deep appreciation for the finer things of life and a strong desire to be of service to humanity. There are times when you experience inner turbulence at your inability to say what you mean. It is far easier for you to express your deeper thoughts and feelings through writing than verbally. You find pleasure in literature, in poetry, and in your ideals and will turn to them when you feel you have been misunderstood. You are deeply moved by the beauties of life, especially nature. Because your feelings run deep, you must guard against the ups and downs, being very inspired one minute, then moody, reserved, and depressed the next. Your reactions to people vary according to how you feel. You tend to be secretive and noncommittal about private matters, yet at times you will talk effusively in order to hide your self-consciousness or to lead others away from personal subjects. You are inspired by encouragement from others, yet suspicious of their intent. You crave affection but seldom find anyone who understands your nature.

yay, most are so true they're freaky! but i love my name, it's unique, and i have yet to meet anyone who has the same name as mine. c',)

on songs and ssinging
Thursday, September 11, 2003

DO YOU LIKE TO SING? no. i loooove to sing!

CAN YOU SING? of course! i think i'm an okay singer, because nobody really complains when i sing. or perhaps they just sort of got immuned to my singing that they don't really pay attention to it anymore?

WOULD YOU CONSIDER A SINGING CAREER AS A: POPSTAR? if i can be packaged like mandy moore, yeah! hehe, sans the boyfriends though.

ROCKSTAR? uhmm, nah.

ANGRY ANGSTY MALE BASHING CHICK? na-ah.

BAND FRONTWOMAN? nope. i'd like to do things solo. i'd love to be like sarah mclachlan or dido, with a lil bit of shirley manson (garbage) or nina pearson (cardigans) going on. =)

DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE A GOOD SINGING VOICE? half-yes, half-no. like what i said, nobody really complains when i sing but that doesn't mean i'm any good. i did sang in a choir back in high school though. and some people said i just need some voice training and i'll be okay.

DO YOU LIKE KARAOKE/VIDEOKE? yeess!!! they're fun! a good friendly bonding activity.

FAVORITE KARAOKE/VIDEOKE PIECE/S? "every breath you take" by sting, "stay" by lisa loeb, "breathless" by the corrs, "walk me home" by mandy moore. hehe ;p

EVER SANG IN PUBLIC? i'm not telling. my lips are zipped!

WHO AMONG TODAY'S SINGERS HAS A REALLY GREAT SINGING VOICE? oh, definitely Dido and Sarah Mclachlan (beautifully haunting), Simone from D'sound, that girl from the band Plumb (her voice is flawless! man!). Locally, Nina sounds really really good esp. when she's not doing a mariah, Aiza too (i like her version of "only hope"), Cynthia Alexander and Aia from Imago.

WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD JUST PICK ANOTHER CAREER? well, just anyone who's using their wealth or body or influence to get a record deal. saying names might get moi in trouble now.

ANY THEME SONG? alanis morissette's "hand in my pocket" "to the moon and back" by savage garden and "no angel" by dido. "sweet dreams (are made of these)" by eurhythmics.

TOP 5 ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS? i have a long list for that, but the following first came to mind: "big yellow taxi" (all versions, but esp. the one by amy grant) "3 a.m." (matchbox 20) "here comes the sun" (beatles) "i will remember you" (sarah mclachlan) "only happy when it rains" (garbage)

ANY MORNING SONG/S? "my girl" (the temptations), "sunshine" (garbrielle) "you gotta be" (des'ree) and the list goes on...

FAVORITE LOVE SONG/S? "you first believed" (hoku), "dream of me" (kirsten dunst), "when we dance" (sting), "every little thing (he does is magic)" (shawn colvin) and "kiss me" (sixpence none the richer)

WORKOUT SONG/S? "lady" by mojo, "inner smile" by texas and "cherry lips" by garbage =)

ANY SONG YOU'D LIKE TO COVER IF GIVEN THE CHANCE? ooh, "here comes the sun" by the fab four ;-)

WHAT IS THE SONG IN YOUR HEAD RIGHT NOW? dido's "white flag" (so sweet! just saw the video and she's so lovely!) and uhm, "sweet dreams (are made of these)" the marilyn manson version, it's sounds so weird and creepy that it's sooo cool!

wow, i enjoyed that one. c.;)

aaron and vem, my dear dormmates/friends, let's keep each other sane, ayt? thanks for always listening.

my study groupmates you people are the best study groupmates any law student from a execution chamber cum hell of a lawschool could ever have! thank you so much for being very patient with tutoring me, for laughing at my jokes, for not pressuring me to drink and smoke (now, if i may ask some of you to not smoke in front of me, eh?) and for giving me free rides and meals (whee!) - you all rule!

i love being loved.
